Quantum in 2026: the short version
Three sourced facts to anchor everything else on this site.
Error correction crossed the threshold
Example: e.g. Google Willow: adding qubits made errors go down, the field’s biggest 2024/25 milestone.
Fault tolerance, demonstrated at scale
Example: e.g. Harvard/MIT/QuEra ran key fault-tolerant elements on 448 neutral atoms (Nature 2025).
2026: from lab to revenue
Example: e.g. McKinsey calls 2026 a commercial tipping point for quantum technology.
